FMNST TALK: building community

What do we mean when we talk about "community"? Why is community so important? And what can we, as queer people, mean to one another? We'll explore these questions together through a panel talk and a variety of performances and speeches, by and for the LGBTQIA+ community.

It's Pride, and it's a celebration — but in a political climate where hate is used as a tool and queer and trans people are framed as a “dangerous” thing, it's more important than ever to remember that Pride is a protest. This evening is an alternative Pride celebration. It's a space to go deeper, to learn what we need from each other, and to go home feeling empowered, less alone, and equipped with concrete tools for building community. Because only together can we move forward.

FMNST:
FMNST (@fmnst.nl) is een intersectioneel platform voor iedereen die wilt deugen - daar is namelijk niks verkeerd aan in een wereld die steeds harder wordt. Sinds 2020 houdt Laura van der Heide (die/hen) zich online en offline bezig met de educatie rondom maatschappelijke thema's. Met de live FMNST events wil die een space creëren waar likeminded mensen samen kunnen komen om te delen, helen, luisteren, leren en vieren.
