A drag cow from the Alps and a drag jaguar from the Amazon trace the same wound across different skins: the animal industry and colonial extraction, the suppression of queer life and indigenous knowledge, the monoculture of bodies and of ecosystems. De-Domestication is a 25-minute road movie of the unleashed — two creatures who use drag, performance and loving disobedience as tools of liberation, moving across borders that were drawn to contain them. Filmed between the Brazilian Amazon and the Swiss glaciers, the film brings together Afro-indigenous Brazilian artist Rafa Bqueer and Swiss-Jewish performance artist Daniel Hellmann as their alter egos Uhura and Soya the Cow, in a work that refuses to separate the taming of animals from the taming of bodies, desires, and lands. The nature-justice-climate crisis is also a crisis of our imagination!

Our guests
Daniel Hellmann (he/him) is a singer, performance artist and animal rights activist based in Zurich. Known by his alter ego Soya the Cow – winner of the Swiss Performing Arts Award 2025 – his work infiltrates public and institutional spaces to expose the links between speciesism, climate crisis, and systemic oppression.
Anne Jesuina (all pronouns) is a somatic abolitionist artist of Dutch-Afro-Brazilian descent, based in Utrecht. Their transdisciplinary work combines artneuro-science from a decolonial perspective to expose the everyday and felt socio-somatic grammar of white “supremacy.” Their work aims to allow what is trapped in dualist thinking to spill over and come through.
