The year is 2035. Humanity has been forced to live underground after a deadly virus wiped out nearly the entire world population in 1996. Prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis) is sent back in time against his will to gather information about the virus that devastated the planet. In the past, he ends up in a psychiatric institution, where he meets the unstoppable and captivating Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt): possibly the key to the mystery of the Army of the 12 Monkeys. As Cole desperately tries to save the future, the line between reality and madness begins to blur, and human values such as hope, trust, and free will are put to a relentless test. Brad Pitt received a Golden Globe for his explosive supporting role!
