Fantastical Cataloguing Workshop with Dark and Stormy #2

Join fanzine makers Dark and Stormy in producing content for an alternative exhibition catalog for Heaving Room. Activities will include role-playing exercises, writing exercises (for example reviews, captions, and titles), and developing visual elements such as drawings or collages.

Everyone participating in the workshop will receive a fanzine, available for collection at the Dark and Stormy launch event on Friday, 22 January 2027, from 18:00 to 21:00.

Dark and Stormy is a series of fanzines compiled, edited and designed by Bart de Baets and Rustan Söderling. Each issue takes on different, often overlooked forms of writing, from reviews and captions to glossaries and biographies. After spending about a decade cryogenically frozen, biding its time, Dark and Stormy returns for its eighth issue as part of Heaving Room at W139. This time, joined by graphic designers Malva Askerup and Jaehyun Kim, it takes the form of an alternative exhibition catalogue.
