Een culinaire avond met Alison Roman & Yvette van Boven

On May 28, Alison Roman — who is visiting the Netherlands for the first time — and Yvette van Boven will come to Tolhuistuin for a conversation about Roman’s new cookbook Something from Nothing and Yvette’s Daily Veg.

Alison is the queen of pantry-ingredient cooking. With only a few ingredients, she can turn her meals into something incredible. With her signature flair, she elevates simple ingredients into dishes you’d invite friends over for (or secretly eat yourself). Think tomato soup with butter and lentils, chicken with olives and turmeric, or a perfect tortilla: low effort, high reward.

From May 22 to 31, the fourth edition of the Yvette van Boven ten-day festival takes place: ten days of celebration, including the special release Daily Veg. For the past year, Yvette has been writing her newsletter Home Made Hub, where she shares weekly recipes, kitchen garden stories, and everyday cooking adventures. In Daily Veg, she brings together the best recipes from that first year: accessible vegetarian dishes packed with vegetables, complemented by cakes, bakes, and desserts for any moment. A small, cheerful book full of cooking inspiration, meant to be opened every day.

This evening is all about cooking smart, wasting less, and trusting your own taste. Expect an inspiring conversation between Yvette and Alison, including a Q&A. Afterwards, both authors will be signing books.
