Echoes of Tomorrow | Warming Up Festival

Echoes of Tomorrow | Warming Up Festival

In Echoes of Tomorrow, a mash-up of film and a hip-hop-inspired storytelling cypher, you’ll leave the room more optimistic than when you entered. Together with Safi Graauw and Dymphie Braun, we’ll co-create the solarpunk story of our planet’s future. Because we don’t want a dystopian cyberpunk tomorrow—we want to end this edition of Warming Up Festival with enough skills of coexisting that hope becomes our closing note.

This program is part of Warming Up Festival 2025: a month of art, culture, and science about living together in a warming world. Discover the full festival program at wearewarmingup.nl.

Dymphie Braun is an experienced program maker, facilitator, and strategist, driven by the principles of equality and inclusion. Her mission is to foster creativity as a tool for social justice. She organizes and presents programs, events, and talk shows on art, design, and (digital) storytelling, and sparks cultural conversations within communities.

Safi Graauw believes film should never be mediocre or derivative. It should capture the extraordinary while introducing new perspectives and driving change. With a background in earth sciences and guided by strong convictions, Safi sees himself as a storyteller whose work adds value to the world. In his films, the message comes first—the form follows.

Percussionist Ibou Ndong brings the Storytelling Cypher to life with the energy and passion of the djembe. Introduced to the instrument by a friend, he immediately felt the spark—the rhythm, the energy, the joy. That spark grew into a lifelong love of music. Over the years, he has performed with dance groups, reggae bands, and at festivals across the Netherlands and Belgium. Whether in jam sessions or community workshops, Ibou connects people through rhythm, creating movement, warmth, and togetherness wherever he plays.
