Dyke Craft Club - Coding Session

Dyke Craft Club - Coding Session

Join us on Sunday 25 May, 11:30–15:30 to queer the web together. No tech experience needed. We’ll use the new Dyke March Amsterdam website on neocities as our playground to explore and experiment.

During the session, we’ll start with unpacking what websites and servers actually are, trace the shared history between weaving and computing, and explore how queerness can disrupt the rigid structures of code. You’ll get coding (and weaving) prompts to add your own words, colours, buttons, and more to the Dyke March site. Everyone is welcome!

Please sign up through this link: https://tinyurl.com/5afp683p

The session will take place downstairs at NieuwLand (Pieter Nieuwlandstraat 93).

❕ The room where we are meeting at NieuwLand is wheelchair accessible but unfortunately the toilets are not, due to structural limitations of the space. There are around 4 steps up to the level where the toilets are. Please let us know through the form if there is anything else we can do to make this event (more) accessible to you.

Keep an eye on your email for more information leading up to the event! The Craft Club will have a session every two months ranging from elaborate workshops on various crafts to open craft hangouts 💜
