Doka Summer Studio x Jazz Club
Three days. Three spaces. One unfolding journey, beginning at Doka.What began as a single summer gathering has grown into something larger. Jazz Club Summer Weekend is a three-day immersion in sound, craft, and genuine human connection. Over two dozen artists. Three distinct spaces. One continuous thread.
The weekend opens just after dark. Movement. Rhythm. Spontaneity. DJs, live jazz musicians, and dancers share and connect on the same floor. Doka is a hi-fi underground space built for powerful experiences, and Friday night honors that.
Headlining is the long-standing house music duo Fouk. As one of the earliest inspirations for the Jazz Club crew, their inclusion is both meaningful and symbolic. A truly full-circle moment. Behind them is an impressive production track record, including numerous releases on Heist Recordings. On July 10th, entraining grooves, chord progressions, and basslines that make you feel. In other words, the perfect pair to carry the night right up until dawn.
In support are the Jazz Club residents, Bon Aime, Nikko Axzul, and baesmith. As self-taught builders, selectors, and curators for Jazz Club, with roots across continents and interests that span even further, they select sounds that are wide, musical, and deep.
Before the club night, Jazz Club will host a house dance class from 22.30 until the start of the club night (23.59). Born in the clubs of Chicago and New York, house dance is a practice rooted in freedom, community, and collective. Drawing from African diasporic traditions, jazz, tap and more, it’s as much a feeling as a technique. Join Patty – dancer, teacher and curator of the Amsterdam House Dance Community – for a class before we move into the night together.
