After the huge success of recent years, it’s time once again for Climate Comedy Night at Tolhuistuin! This time, headliners Alex Ploeg and Pepijn Schoneveld (MC) are joined by rising talents like Djoni Vos and Teun de Vries, ready to add some lightness and oxygen to the suffocating CO2 misery we usually get thrown at us. And yes, even if the news makes you want to cry, this night is all about humor. A big dose of humor.

The comedians share their takes and insights on the climate crisis and the future with a lighthearted twist. Because laughter and connection are what make this evening special. Together, we look at the absurdities of our lives and the world around us. No sugarcoating, but hopeful nonetheless. Cynicism won’t get us anywhere. We need to laugh to keep up the courage and strength to protect the future and all that we hold dear. To get up again and again, for what matters. And sometimes, our batteries just need a proper recharge—with a night of roaring laughter. A night where we laugh together, for the future.

Alex Ploeg is a comedian, actor, and writer. A member of Comedytrain and a regular at Toomler, he was named Comedy Talent of the Year by de Volkskrant and one of the “most promising comedians of the decade” by NRC.

He co-created and starred in the satirical sketch show Klikbeet, appeared on shows like Zondag met Lubach, Dit Was Het Nieuws, and Last One Laughing (LOL), and in 2024 made his theater debut in the acclaimed production Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Pepijn is an actor, podcaster, and comedian. After graduating from the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre & Dance, he acted in plays, films, and TV series. He hosts the podcast PepTalk, where he interviews fascinating guests, and every week he chats with Alex Ploeg and Christine de Boer in the podcast De Hete Brei, tackling the things they usually avoid. This season he tours with his cabaret show Welkom Dat Je Luistert. For the third year in a row, Pepijn is hosting Climate Comedy Night, bringing his favorite comedians and performers to the stage.

During her studies in Amsterdam, she fell off her bike—and out of her faith. After graduation, she started at a major strategy consultancy firm on the Zuidas, surrounded by yuppies and personal development targets. Her jokes didn’t land so well in meetings about cost-cutting and layoffs, so she decided to take them to the stage instead.

This Frisian Comedytrain comedian effortlessly navigates between farm machinery and mental roadblocks. His comedy is honest, authentic, and full of life’s bizarre contradictions—like the fact that he struggles with social anxiety yet still takes the stage every week.

With his tall frame and awkward charm, Teun takes you into a world where disarming honesty is the highest goal, and likeability reaches new levels.

Na het grote succes van de afgelopen jaren is het weer tijd voor de Climate Comedy Night in Tolhuistuin! Deze keer staan headliners Alex Ploeg en Pepijn Schoneveld (MC) met jonge aanstormende talenten zoals Djoni Vos en Teun de Vries klaar om wat lichtheid en zuurstof toe te voegen aan de bedrukkende CO2 ellende die we doorgaans over ons heen krijgen. En ja, ook al is het nieuws soms om te huilen, deze avond staat juist in het teken van humor. Een flinke dosis humor.

De comedians brengen op luchtige toon hun mening en inzichten over de klimaatcrisis en de toekomst. Want lachen en verbinden maken deze avond bijzonder. We kijken samen naar de absurditeiten van ons leven en de wereld om ons heen. Geen mooi weer, maar wel hoopvol. Want aan cynisme hebben we niks. We moeten lachen, zodat we de moed en kracht houden om de toekomst en alles wat ons lief is te beschermen. Om telkens weer opnieuw op te staan voor wat ons waard is. En soms, mag die batterij eens even goed gevuld worden met een avond flink lachen. Een avond waar we samen lachen, voor de toekomst.

Alex Ploeg is cabaretier, acteur en tekstschrijver. Hij is lid van Comedytrain en regelmatig te zien in Toomler. Hij werd door de Volkskrant gekozen tot hét Comedytalent en door NRC als één van de ‘meest veelbelovende cabaretiers van het decennium’.

Alex bedacht en maakte het satirische sketchprogramma Klikbeet, hij was te zien in tv-programma’s als Zondag met Lubach, Dit Was Het Nieuws en Last One Laughing (LOL), in 2024 maakte hij zijn toneeldebuut in het veelgeprezen stuk Wie is er bang voor Virginia Woolf?

Pepijn is acteur, podcastmaker en comedian. Na zijn opleiding aan de Amsterdamse Toneelschool & Kleinkunstacademie speelde hij in toneelstukken, films en series. Ook maakt hij de podcast PepTalk waarin hij mensen interviewt die hij interessant vindt en spreekt hij iedere week met Alex Ploeg en Christine de Boer in de podcast De Hete Brei over dingen waar ze altijd omheen draaien. Aankomende seizoen speelt hij zijn kleinkunst show Welkom Dat Je Luistert. Het is het derde jaar dat Pepijn de Climate Comedy Night organiseert en als MC zijn favoriete comedians en kleinkunstenaars aan het publiek presenteert.

Tijdens haar studie in Amsterdam viel ze van haar fiets en van haar geloof. Na haar studie is ze eerst bij een groot strategisch consultancy kantoor op de Zuidas gaan werken, waar ze omringd werd door yuppen en persoonlijke ontwikkeling targets. Haar grapjes vielen niet helemaal goed in vergaderingen over kostenbesparingen en ontslagrondes dus is ze maar op het podium gaan staan.

De Friese Comedytrain comedian die moeiteloos laveert tussen landbouwvoertuigen en mentale blokkades. Zijn comedy is openhartig, authentiek en omvat de bizarre tegenstrijdigheden van het leven – zoals het feit dat hij kampt met sociale angsten, maar wél wekelijks op een podium staat.

Met zijn lange gestalte en onhandige charme neemt Teun je mee in een wereld waarin ontwapenenen het hoogst haalbare is en gunfactor nieuwe levels aanneemt.
