Book Presentation: Dreaming of Dreams

On 7 May 2026, Framer Framed hosts the presentation and crowdfunding event for the book Dreaming of Dreams by artist Maurice Bogaert, a book about dreaming as a political act. He is joined by teacher and storyteller Farnoosh Farnia to dive into dreams and dreaming as political act and act of resistance.

Dreaming of Dreams, published by Jap Sam Books, is a product of Maurice Bogaet’s second collaboration with designer Edwin van Gelder (Mainstudio). As with their first book, this collaboration has resulted in a cinematic book in which images, text, typography and design come together in a symbiotic way.

It’s written like a visual essay in which the reader follows three characters and their dreams: a Jewish-German journalist who fled to New York, a stationmaster living in Syria and a hesitant dreamer from a former mining town in Limburg. It brings together found footage, archive and self-produced material in a staging where fiction, non-fiction and auto-fiction intertwine.
