Jaap Blonk - compositions, vocals, electronics Around 1980, I fantasized about having my own band that would play my pieces and
came up with the name “Blonk’s Blinks”. But I found it presumptuous to use my own
name, so it became “Splinks”, active from 1984 to 1999.
It wasn't until 2018 that I picked up the thread again; the new band became “Jaap
Blonk’s Retirement Overdue”. In the meantime, however, I have decided against
retirement, written new pieces, and found wonderful new comrades. That is why I
actually dare to use the old name “Blonk’s Blinks” now.
