Back to the Roots - Sweden
Some melodies have been travelling for centuries. They are played, sung, adapted and passed on from generation to generation, from village to city, from then to now. We keep this music travelling.
Inspired by Dutch and Swedish traditions, Dulfer & Witteveen, together with cellist Rogier Hornman and world champion nyckelharpa player (Swedish keyed fiddle) Torbjörn Näsbom, bring their interpretations of Swedish and Dutch traditional tunes to life. Not as something from the past, but as music that is still relevant today and brings people together.
This concert also marks the EP release of Back to the Roots – Sweden, the first in a series of EPs through which Stichting Future Sounds documents musical traditions from different countries.
This is not a concert where you have to sit still. Expect an energetic and warm atmosphere that invites you to move along and gives you a moment to break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
