The Nutcracker portrays a woman trapped in a fairytale-kingdom - always on her toes, always composed and always with a smile. In the corresponding between words and movement Princess Girl attempts to narrate her fairytale story without a crack.
Lover’s Guide to Machine Learning is a piece for two voices. Michael Lucey is based in Dublin, which is one-thousand-one-hundred-and-twenty-nine kilometres away. Tristan Spellman Molphy is based in Amsterdam, which is here and now, and now is always one-thousand-one-hundred-and-twenty-nine kilometres away. The piece explores nonhuman voices, the humans who feed them, and the fictions that fill the distance between them.
Amelie Spinks and Adrian Bifano: Amelie Spinks presents a fresh set of music inspired by the return of springtime. An indie-folk musician, her songwriting has strong ties to her New Zealand country-folk roots. She will present a set of new and old songs which indulge in the human experience and pursue warm truths. In inviting fingerpicking, sweet melodies and a gentle voice, her songs hold captivating power and will carry you through the beauty of summer. To help her music come alive, she will be joined by Adrian Bifano on electric guitar. An experienced jazz musician and artist in his own right, Adrian holds a musical intuition that suits Amelie’s music entirely. The duo found each other and instant chemistry over a shared love of country music.
