WG FILM FESTIVAL TIJD PRESENTEERT: METAMORFOSE

Na een succesvolle eerste editie keert het WG Filmfestival TIJD dit jaar terug met een nieuw thema: METAMORFOSE. Kunstenaars, filmmakers en producenten van atelierWG en LAB111 presenteren tijdens een tweedaags filmprogramma een veelzijdige selectie korte films waarin het thema metamorfose vanuit verschillende invalshoeken wordt benaderd. Een mix van verhalen en stijlen die samenkomen in vier thematische programma’s: Transfiguratie, Ritueel, Mythe en Landschap.

De geselecteerde films verkennen processen van transformatie — fysiek, mentaal, maatschappelijk en technologisch. Ze laten zien hoe het verleden doorwerkt in het heden, en hoe nieuwe technologieën onze blik op de werkelijkheid opschudden. De films bewegen tussen het analoge en digitale tijdperk, tussen droom en document, tussen herinnering en toekomstvisie. Naast de filmvertoningen zijn er korte gesprekken met makers die hun werk en inspiratie toelichten. TIJD/METAMORFOSE biedt ruimte voor reflectie, poëzie en verwondering – een caleidoscopisch venster op een wereld in voortdurende transitie: “What was before –is left behind; what never was – is now.”

After a successful first edition, the WG Film Festival TIME is returning this year with a new theme: METAMORPHOSIS. Artists, filmmakers, and producers from atelierWG and LAB111 will present a two-day film program featuring a diverse selection of short films that explore the theme of metamorphosis from different angles. A mix of stories and styles come together in four thematic programs: Transfiguration, Ritual, Myth, and Landscape.

The selected films examine processes of transformation — physical, mental, societal, and technological. They show how the past influences the present and how new technologies shake up our view of reality. The films move between the analog and digital eras, between dream and document, between memory and future vision. In addition to the screenings, there will be short conversations with the filmmakers providing context to their work and inspiration. TIME/METAMORPHOSIS offers space for reflection, poetry, and wonder — a kaleidoscopic window into a world in constant transition: “What was before – is left behind; what never was – is now.”.
