Ükya (Norway)

Ükya is a trio working with freely improvised and composed music. The band consists of Emil Bø on trombone, Kristian Enkerud Lien on guitar, and Michael Lee Sørenmo on drums.

The band has been playing together since 2022 and, in this relatively short time, has performed concerts both in Norway and abroad. They play in an eccentric, almost punk-like way with an anti-virtuosic approach to music, drawing inspiration from concepts related to minimalism, European art music, jazz, and improvised music. This results in free form, rigorous organization of sound, and lyrical playing.

Ükya released their first album "We Come for an Experience of Presence in 2024", with good reviews and several radio playlists. In November 2025 the band is going for their third Europe tour, to promote the upcoming release of their second album "Soon Means Now" , which will be released on Nakama Records.
