The English punkrockband The Damned led the punk movement in the '70s, together with bands like Sex Pistols and The Clash. They even were the first UK punkband that released a single, which was 'New Rose'. Their fast-paced punkrock is seen as an important influence on the rise of hardcore punk during the end of seventies and beginning of the eighties. The band is still keeping their punk alive. The band shows a darker and more psychedelic sound on their latest work 'Darkadelic', while staying true to their punkrock roots.
