The chair, the wig and the sheep: The portable universe
What if a country were run by a shady CEO Mr. Sheep, who has his office in a billiards room? What if furniture weren’t objects, but people in acrobatic poses? What if teenagers were trained to capture their brand identity in a catchy name and a wig? What if the government awarded prizes through competitive Wig Games?

Welcome to the absurdist world of Sheep Industries, where the 16-year-old Gossipin’ Jocelyn, full of ambition, begins her career as a freelance furniture acrobat. But between thankless understudy jobs, unpaid bills, and caring for her father in a wheelchair (read: two acrobats), Gossipin’ Jocelyn becomes increasingly disillusioned. Until she meets The Bald Ones, a group of rebels who invite her to see the world through different eyes.
The chair, the wig and the sheep by Rosa Vrij, photographed by Heleen van Outheusden -
Join performance and visual artist Rosa Vrij, who will personally guide you through this fictional universe contained in a suitcase, which literally unfolds through handmade miniatures, comic strips, and documents. The chair, the wig, and the sheep: The portable universe is a crossover between a miniature exhibition, storytelling, a graphic novel, and a tabletop RPG. And above all: an ode to the imagination!
Rosa Vrij
As a performance maker and visual artist, Rosa creates universes around a central research theme. Within these universes, a series of artworks arise, building upon each other: from interactive book presentations to live drawings. Often, she reverses the roles of the audience and the artwork, inviting the audience to act as co-creators in her exploration of the boundaries between the body and architecture. Her inspiration draws from video games and board games, and the instructional methods these media employ. She also has a passion for graphic novels, modular furniture, and book design. Enlarge
