Socialist Cosmopolitanism and Its Afterlife – from On Kino Archives

On Kino has organised screenings since 2017, often comprising rare, forgotten, or orphan films, most of which have been discovered by Qin Dao himself. During the event, Qin Dao will share works ranging from 16mm film produced during the 60s-70s, to VHS tapes from the 1980s, along with print materials. This includes a film produced by the Chinese socialist regime that supported the resistance against the US during the Vietnam War, along with videos from his VHS collection that fictionalise Southeast Asia as a left-behind “no man’s land”.
Places are limited so please register your attendance here.
This event is in English. Admission is free.
