Singashore is a place with an invented name. It is the vision of a landscape in burnout, or the memory of our ancestral body that preserves the past and foreshadows the future. Singashore is the ever evolving performance project of Collettivo Nebulæ, that reveals itself through performative stages before dissolving and continuing its mutation. In a world of loneliness in front of a screen, isolated in a bubble. The body is a multitude, a hellish tangle; we mourn death, we cry in a silent scream for the living beings, for our dead, and for the plants.
As we are bombarded with images, the body absorbs the information, which agitates and moves it in a spasmodic and irrational way.
The risk is paralysis and catatonia. The unbearable hallucination of a high-pitched sound. In the twilight of this era that we observe together we linger. In the closeness of the bodies and with the force of nature, perhaps there is the seed of a new beginning.
Collettivo Nebulæ is formed by dance makers Valentina Campora, Marta Sponzilli, Manuela Lucia Tessi and I-Chen Zuffellato.
It was founded in 2022 with the decision to embark on a journey together, both physical and non-physical, artistic and personal, based on research and mutual support, straddling two countries, Italy and the Netherlands. The questions that the four artists start from are “how to be together, how to be a collective, and how to live with what is happening around us?”
