Felt your own soft sheepskin — made from wool of a sheep that’s still happily roaming the fields! In this workshop, you’ll work with beautiful, rescued wool to create a warm and sustainable final result.

Each year, more than 1.5 million kilos of shorn Dutch wool end up in the trash, even though it’s a beautiful and sustainable material. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to felt a fully shorn fleece — without harming a single sheep — by hand into a warm, sturdy sheepskin. You’ll work using ancient craft techniques: from cleaning and shaping the fleece to the actual felting process. Everyone will create their own small sheepskin (IKEA rug size) to take home. The wool comes from a farm in Drenthe, from small brown French sheep, and has been carefully and respectfully saved from waste. This workshop is offered only once a year — because the sheep are only shorn once a year!
