Humans of Film Festival is the place to discover arthouse films from around the world you’re unlikely to see anywhere else in the Netherlands. From BIPOC and queer filmmakers to migrant and diasporic voices, the festival has, since its very first edition, championed perspectives too often overlooked by the mainstream. Its programme approaches cinema through an intersectional and decolonial lens, making room for feminist, queer and ecological perspectives as well as stories that cross cultures, borders and identities. Through deeply personal stories, the films explore questions that reach far beyond the lives on screen. They take you somewhere you might not have been before and invite you to consider a different point of view. And while some films confront difficult realities, others find humour, beauty, pleasure and hope in unexpected places.
