SCIENCE (BAR) TALKS: HOW DOES AI ACTUALLY WORK

What does it actually mean to be intelligent? AI models can type beautiful essays, yet make primary school level mistakes. This evening, we are bringing together two Amsterdam researchers to chat about how machine "thinking" compares to the human brain, and whether AI is genuinely intelligent or just a very good mimic.

Dr. Peter Bloem (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) looks at AI as purely algorithmic machines.

Dr. Bloemicha Heilbron (University of Amsterdam / Max Planck Institute) is a brain scientist who maps how humans naturally process language.
