Sand, Paint & Fly!

Who lives in the trees, parks and canals around us? Children meet the birds of Amsterdam, learning their names, shapes, colours and stories. Looking at the bright, painted bird sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle, they learn to look closely at beak, wings, tail and feathers, and to find a bird’s essential shape. Then they sand a rough wooden bird shape from coarse to smooth, feeling how the material changes, and paint it into their own feathered friend.

The workshop is designed & led by Ahmet Dundar and Secil Guven in collaboration with Art Studio Amsterdam

This workshop is an extension of a children's art and science course.
