Where I am, I belong

Experience an evening where powerful voices and personal stories open a new perspective on rooting and belonging. During the Rooted Stories Night, Rooted community speakers will share authentic, moving stories about what it means to become rooted, both in the Netherlands, a community and in oneself. The evening marks the official launch of the Rooted Speaker Pool.

Rooted is about embracing your layered identities, dancing between them and authentically being part of society. We see true inclusion begins with recognition, not assimilation. Our speakers bring this vision to life with stories that are raw, humorous, touching, and deeply human. These stories will reveal personal journeys of embracing all parts of our identity, and inspire us on how we, together, can shape a more inclusive and cohesive society.

Voice Liberation Workshop (FULLY BOOKED)

Prior to the Stories Night, we also offer a Voice Liberation Workshop, to first reconnect with your own voice, before listening to stories of others. During the workshop, you are warmly invited to express yourself from the heart, and let your inner voice be heard. With Charo’s guidance, we’ll share a safe space to express, release, and reconnect with the voice that lives in us. No prior experience is needed, everybody is welcome.

*Voice liberation is a practice that uses breath and sound to help you express your authentic self. It invites you to let yourself be heard without performance or judgment, and to take up space as you are.
