QC on Screen: Three short films by members of the Queer Choir Amsterdam

"Join us for an evening of screenings at QC on Screen, a special event featuring three short films created by members of the Queer Choir Amsterdam. These three works share personal and collective stories, offering glimpses into the creative worlds that shape our voices.

QC on screen is not only a celebration of our artistry but also a way to support the Queer Choir itself. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to sustaining and growing the choir, helping us continue to sing, gather, and amplify queer joy. Come for the films, stay for the warmth. We Are the Archive takes us into the hidden past of the black queer community in the Netherlands. What connects us to the generations before us, and what can we learn from each other? In this film a group of young queer people of color meet the women of Stichting Mil Colores, who have been organising events for women of different ethnic backgrounds and sexualities since 2000. A story about identity, resilience and a history still in motion.

At a Rate of Knots

At a Rate of Knots explores knot patterns as a strategy to approach constructions of memory and the way we share them. Within this recollection, imaginaries and lived experiences inform each other. The work questions the assimilation of social norms within gender performativity through the narration of different souvenirs.
