Performance Giulia Damiani with after talk
Location: Stadsarchief, Vijzelstraat 32, Amsterdam
An extract from her work-in-progress project Apology for Fire, this short solo performance investigates how power and climate narratives choreograph public space. Political speech often links to stiffened gestures and stylised rhetoric. The artist spent time in Portugal in an area impacted by wildfires, gathering evidence of a different insurgent climate experience. The body becomes resonant sensory friction and acoustic vibration; this piece offers an alternative public discourse on how non-normative bodies inhabit, share, and reclaim urban space, connecting with what exists beyond.
After the performance Giulia Damiani will be in conversation with curators Sanneke Huisman and belit sağ.
