Pendulum Painting

‍DATE: 29 NOV

TIME: 11H-12H30

PRICE: €30; €5 for Stadspas holders

LANGUAGE: EN + NL

A cup of paint with a tiny hole hangs above the paper. Give it a push, and gravity takes over! Children investigate how the swinging weight moves and why, watching its path turn into loops, ovals and spirals as it slowly loses speed. They meet Bridget Riley, an artist who paints stripes and waving lines that seem to move and vibrate, just like the patterns a swinging pendulum draws. We build the hanging structure together, so children can understand the technique and use it themselves.

The workshop is designed & led by Ahmet Dundar and Secil Guven in collaboration with Art Studio Amsterdam

This workshop is an extension of a children's art and science course.
