Orbits Festival 2026

Orbits Festival 2026
DAY 1 - a celebration of Amsterdam’s improvised music scene

The Orbits Festival is an annual celebration of improvised music in Amsterdam.

With an eclectic curatorial style, the festival showcases this music in its many forms and intersections, including free improvisation, electronics, modern jazz, and contemporary music. At its core is a focus on the young generation of creative and adventurous musicians.

From the Amsterdam scene: Omer Govreen Trio, Marcus Wärnheim, Manderjan, Wazo Bean, tatatacouF, Vera Morais & Marcos Cavaleiro, Aviv Noam ‘The Avant-Groove Session’, Hristo Goleminov ‘Diagonal Shift’, Foon, and AgusFulka’s · Aletheia.

This year’s edition also includes two acts showcasing improvised music from the north and south of Portugal, in a new collaboration between Orbits and two Portuguese associations from Porto and Lisbon: Joana Raquel ‘queda áscua’ (Porta-Jazz), and Garfo (Robalo Music).
