Amsterdam-based supergroup Nusantara Beat - comprising musicians from Altin Gün, EUT and POM, among others - found each other in a shared roots and commitment to Indonesian culture. The band incorporates the mystical sounds of Indonesian traditional music, with contemporary styles and vocals. After shows at festivals such as Dekmantel, Lowlands and Eurosonic Noorderslag, last year the band released the promising hit single ‘Djanger’, a psychedelic twist on a classic Balinese song. On Friday, March 7, Nusantara Beat is coming to the OZ!
