Ishchenko | Liatoshynsky | BrahmsThe NotaBene Chamber Group plays works of Ishchenko, Liatoshynsky and Brahms

Founded in 2016, the NotaBene Chamber Group has consisted of soloists of the National House of Music; acclaimed Ukrainian musicians and laureates of national and international competitions.

Their repertoire spans a broad range of styles, from Viennese classicism to early 20th-century works and contemporary academic music by both Ukrainian and international composers. A hallmark of the ensemble is its varied programming, featuring duos, trios, quartets, quintets, sextets, and chamber vocal works.

A core focus of the ensemble is the exploration of contemporary Ukrainian music, working closely with its composers. In 2020, the ensemble launched the project Masterpieces of Ukrainian Music from the 1970s–1990s, featuring works by** Valentyn Silvestrov, Leonid Hrabovskyi, Yevhen Stankovych**, and others.

Currently, the ensemble is undertaking a major project: the complete recording of the chamber music of Borys Lyatoshynsky, one of Ukraine’s most important 20th-century composers.

This initiative, in collaboration with the Liatoshynsky Foundation and the National House of Music, aims to preserve and promote his legacy. By performing and recording Lyatoshynsky’s complete chamber works, the ensemble secures his place in global music heritage — making this rich repertoire available to an international audience through high-quality audio recordings.
