Noche de Boleros by Estrella Acosta & Paulinho Paes

Noche de Boleros by Estrella Acosta & Paulinho Paes
A Night of Boleros with warm and soulful sounds from the golden era of Cuban and Latin American music. Born in 19th-century Santiago de Cuba and sung by the ‘trovadores' in the streets, the bolero traveled to Havana and became the soundtrack of romance. In the '50s and '60s it blossomed into bolero-son, bolero-cha, bolero-rumba, and the intimate style called ‘filin’ (from feeling), with harmonies inspired by American jazz. The bolero left Havana, crossed borders and found new composers and interpreters in Mexico and Puerto Rico, turning love, heartache and nostalgia into a shared emotional language - it conquered a continent from Central America to the heart of Brazil. On this evening, Cuban singer Estrella Acosta and Brazilian guitarist Paulinho Paes will take you on an intimate musical journey with songs by great composers from Cuba and Latin
America. www.estrellaacosta.com
