Anna la Berge en Dorota Matejov zijn beide gespecialiseerd in composities van fluit, electronica en tekst. In het Blad & Blazers Festival staan zij voor het eerst na elkaar op het podium en sluiten het concert na hun solo’s gezamenlijk af.
Anne La Berge
solo recital fluit & electronica, eigen composities
Anne La Berge is een fluitiste, componiste en improviserend musicus. Zo onderscheidt ze zich als "pionier van een wijd spectrum aan technieken". Zij voert vaak eigen werk uit maar ze heeft ook partituren voor anderen geschreven, waarin ze dan meestal vormen van geleide improvisatie gebruikt.
La Berge is een van de oprichters van het muzikantencollectief Splendor Amsterdam die in 2013 een oud badhuis in Amsterdam hebben omgetoverd tot een cultureel mekka, waar ze regelmatig kleinschalige concerten produceert en deelt met internationale gasten. Haar passie voor de extremen in zowel gecomponeerde als geïmproviseerde muziek heeft haar naar de randen van storytelling en geluidskunst geleid als haar muzikale inspiratiebronnen.
Dorota Matejová

Dorota Márföldi-Matej is muzikant, traverso- en houten fluitspeler, fysiek performer, dichter, componist en docent. Ze woont, treedt op en geeft les in Bratislava, Slowakije en Rotterdam, Nederland. Ze speelt solo-optredens, speelt in kamermuziekverband of werkt samen in kleinschalige settings. Haar uitvoeringspraktijk varieert van oude muziek, nieuwe muziek, experimentele en geïmproviseerde muziek tot interdisciplinaire dans, fysieke theatervoorstellingen en gesproken poëzie.
Als uitvoerend musicus is Dorota Matejová gespecialiseerd in de traverso (fluit), waarop ze verliefd werd vanwege de fragiele, warme, mens-stem-achtige klank. Voortgekomen uit de eerste impuls voor de traverso-klank en haar passie voor het bevragen van de traditie door de bestaande muziekstandaarden en formats in een nieuwe context te plaatsen, interpreteert ze zowel als geeft ze opdrachten voor nieuwe composities voor de traverso. Het verkennen van de uitgebreide sonoriteiten van dit instrument was ook een onderwerp van haar veelgeprezen masteronderzoek THE LIMITS OF TRAVERSO; Exploring the Sound Possibilities of Traverso through Contemporary Music (2020).
Blad & Blazers Festival
Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam (NNA), dé maandelijkse concertserie voor hedendaagse kamermuziek, presenteert voor het eerst in hun zesjarige bestaan het ‘Blad & Blazers Festival’. Een vierdaags muzikaal evenement dat plaatsvindt van vrijdag 16 t/m zondag 19 oktober 2025 in het Plein Theater in Amsterdam Oost. Met een programma van gevestigde (inter-) nationale musici, jong talent en cross-overs met beeldende kunst en dans geven curatoren Aspasia Nasopoulou (componist) en Fie Schouten (basklarinettist) inspirerende nieuwe muziek en composities een podium.
Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam
Met een voorliefde voor experiment en vernieuwing presenteert het Plein Theater Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam. Gloednieuwe composities van toonaangevende musici vormen de ingrediënten van deze concertserie voor hedendaagse kamermuziek. Basklarinettist Fie Schouten en componist Aspasia Nasopoulou cureren de serie, die maandelijks op zondagmiddag te beluisteren is. Doorgaans in het Plein Theater zelf, soms op locatie.

Fluit & Traverso
Anna la Berge and Dorota Matejov are both specialist in compositions for flute, electronics and text. At the Blad & Blazers Festival, they perform on stage one after the other for the first time and close the concert together.
Anne La Berge
solo recital flute & electronics, own compositions
Anne La Berge is a flutist, composer and improviser. Her performances bring together a virtuosic command of her instrument, use of microtonal textures and melodies, and an array of percussive flute effects, all combined with electronic processing. These have distinguished her as “a pioneer in a wide array of new techniques". Many of her compositions involve her own participation, though she has produced works intended solely for other performers, usually involving guided improvisation and electronics. She is known for her use of texts that form part of her compositions and improvisations. In addition to creating her own work, she regularly performs in other artists’ projects in a range of settings from modern chamber music to improvised electronic music.
La Berge is a founding member of the musician collective Splendor Amsterdam. Her passion for the extremes in both composed and improvised music has led her to the edges of storytelling and sound art as her musical inspirations.
Dorota Matejová
solo recital traverso & voice & audio tapes
Dorota Márföldi-Matej is a musician, traverso & wooden flutes player, physical performer, poet, composer and educator, living, performing and teaching between Bratislava, Slovakia and Rotterdam, Netherlands. She makes solo performances, plays in chamber groups or collaborates in small-scale settings while her performance practice ranges from early music, new music, experimental & improvised music through interdisciplinary, dance and physical theatre performance to spoken poetry.
Dorota Matejová specialises in the traverso (flute), which she fell in love with for its fragile, warm, human-voice-like sound. Exploring the extended sonorities of this instrument was also a subject of her acclaimed master's thesis THE LIMITS OF TRAVERSO; Exploring the Sound Possibilities of Traverso through Contemporary Music (2020).
Blad & Blazers Festival
Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam shines a spotlight on wind instruments during the very first edition of the Blad & Blazers Festival. From October 16 to 19, enjoy four full days of inspiring new music from established (inter)national musicians, emerging talent, and exciting crossovers with visual arts and dance. Let yourself be swept away amid sheet music and the autumn leaves swirling outside!
Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam
With a love for experiment and innovation, Plein Theater presents Nieuwe Noten Amsterdam. Brand-new compositions by leading musicians form the core of this concert series dedicated to contemporary chamber music. Bass clarinetist Fie Schouten and composer Aspasia Nasopoulou curate the series, which can be enjoyed on Sunday afternoons each month—usually at Plein Theater itself, and occasionally at other locations.
