Night Dreamer by The New Conrad Miller Trio
This title refers to an album by Wayne Shorter, released in 1964. With the amazing McCoy Tyner on the piano. For us Night Dreamer has several symbolic meanings, including unlimited possibilities , unimaginable expectations & paradoxical dreams. As musicians we live a great part of our life’s at night, in the darkest hour. (As so many of us;) This reflects in our music & compositions, as well in the beautiful cover artwork by Michael Cheval. Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable, and you might get surprised by the Unexpected. A nice phrase a friend sent some years ago as a New Years wish. Kept always resonating in my mind. As a trio we had so much fun and joy while recording this album. Therefore, we hope to spread that positive energy, whenever you hear us playing live, or while listening to our album. Enjoy and keep on dreaming ~The lights went out and the sounds of the piano flew across the audience like smoke in New Orleans jazz club. Conrad Miller enchanted us with his sound, full of freedom, emotions and subtle surprises. It was an evening that will resonate in our heads for a long time ~ (Poland October 2025) Early 2018 pianist, composer Coen Molenaar released the CD and LP "Sounding Silence '. Together with Mark Eshuis (drums) and David de Marez Oyens (double-bass) they are: “The New Conrad Miller Trio'. Influenced by pianists like Michel Petruciani, Herbie Hancock, Monty Alexander , George Duke, McCoy Tyner (and many more). The use of South American rhythms and harmonies combined with traditional Jazz as well as blues and soul result in lyrical, impressionistic compositions. Telling stories about Azul Blue Waterfalls, the smell of Summerrain, The Lazy fisherman of Porta de Galinhas, August rain in Damascus to rhythms of Mozambique and Sounding Silence.
