New Year’s Dive: Winter Dip

Start your year with a splash! Leave the champagne bubbles behind and take a plunge into the Johan van Hasselt Canal during our refreshing New Year’s Dive. Put on your boldest swimsuit, brave the cold, and kick off 2027 with a splash. Connect with each other, yourself and nature. It’s cold, it’s wet, but above all: refreshing!

Want to join? Registration is mandatory and places are limited. Participation is free, but a voluntary donation for the guides is appreciated.

Of course, your neighbours, friends and family are welcome to come along, enjoy the atmosphere and cheer on the dippers from the sidelines.

Safe and prepared for the water

Brave swimmers welcome, as long as you’re prepared. Safety is important to us, so someone will be present to guide the dive and lead a warm-up. Make sure you have at least a swimming certificate B and are over 15 years old (under 18? Please bring a supervisor). Do you have health conditions such as heart problems? Then we recommend cheering us on from the café instead! Finally, participation is at your own risk. De Ceuvel cannot be held liable in any way.Upon arrival, you can leave your belongings under the covered area outside the café. Bringing a bathrobe for the warm-up before entering the water is a good idea. The group will enter the water in phases to increase safety. After the dive, you can warm up in our cosy café with a cup of hot chocolate or a steaming cup of tea. If the weather is dry, we’ll light a fire outside and roast marshmallows. Bring plenty of warm clothes and perhaps even a blanket, so you can comfortably enjoy the aftermath.
