New Year’s Dive: Winter Dip
Start your year with a splash! Leave the champagne bubbles behind and dive into the Johan van Hasselt Canal during our sparkling New Year’s Dive. Put on your bravest swimwear, face the cold, and feel a steaming start to 2025. Connect with each other, yourself and nature. It is cold, it is wet, but above all: refreshing!

Your neighbours, friends and family are of course welcome to cheer on the dippers from the sidelines.
Safe and prepared into the water
Brave dippers welcome, as long as you come prepared. Safety is important to us, so someone will be present to guide the dive and provide a warm-up. Make sure you have at least swimming certificate B and are older than 15 years (under 18? Bring a guardian). Do you have health conditions such as heart problems? Then we advise you to cheer from the sideline instead! Finally, this dive is at your own risk, and De Ceuvel cannot be held liable.
Upon arrival, you can leave your belongings under the outdoor shelter by the café. A bathrobe before entering the water for the warm-up is recommended. The group enters the water in phases to increase safety. After the dip, you can warm up in our cosy café with a hot chocolate or a steaming cup of tea. If the weather is dry, we will light a fire outside and roast marshmallows. Bring plenty of warm clothing and maybe even a blanket so you can enjoy the afterglow comfortably.
