My Favourite Melodies
Join renowned recorder player Sarah Jeffery for the launch of her newest book, My Favourite Melodies for Alto Recorder, published by Schott Music. This unique concert features fourteen stunning pieces spanning centuries and continents – from Renaissance gems to contemporary jazz, from Irish folk tunes to modern works by living composers.
Sarah is joined by Anne Veinberg (piano & harpsichord) and Guillermo Celano (guitar) in an intimate programme that showcases the expressive range of the alto recorder. Throughout the evening, Sarah shares personal insights and stories behind her selection of these melodies – a carefully curated mix of her all-time favourites.
Expect music by John Dowland, J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns, Abdullah Ibrahim, Althea Talbot-Howard, and more.
Widely known as Team Recorder on YouTube, Sarah Jeffery inspires over 250,000 subscribers with her engaging recorder tutorials and performances. She has published four music books with Schott and is a passionate educator, performer, and advocate for the recorder in the 21st century. Since 2022, she has been Professor of Recorder at the Royal College of Music in London.
