Museo Aero Solar - Used Plastic Drop-off

Museo Aero Solar - Used Plastic Drop-off

Amsterdam is full of plastic bags. Time to put them to better use & join ‘Museo Aero Solar’ this summer! 🧰 ✂️
‘Museo Aero Solar’ is a collaborative art project where we use discarded plastic bags to build a large inflatable artwork. And we need a lot of them. Plastic bags caught in bushes, blown down the streets, or stuffed under the sink at home. The project is as much about raising awareness of how much plastic we use as it is about making art.

♻️ What to collect: Any used plastic bags. Supermarket bags, market bags, bread bags, transparent bags. Got a mix of colours? Even better, it helps make the artwork come to life. Every bag is welcome!
📦 How to collect: Start a pile at home, or ask your neighbours, colleagues or family to save theirs too. A few days of collecting will add up quickly.
🗑️ Where to drop off: Bring your bags to one of our workshops, or drop them off at one of our collection points across Amsterdam, including a Droppie Recycle Store (Bos & Lommerplein and Javastraat), the Plastic Whale HQ and Mediamatic. ‘Museo Aero Solar’ (2007) is an ongoing collaborative project by @aerocene Foundation, which has evolved through many iterations worldwide. The Amsterdam edition is initiated by @synergyartfestival for Synergy City, curated by @gnatasha. The project is programmed by @rikdijkhuizen and realised through collaborations with @mediamatic_, @amsterdamsebos, @milieuservicenederland, @godroppie and @plasticwhale.
