About the mini safaris

Go on an adventure at De Ceuvel! During these Mini Safaris, you will explore the Ceuvel grounds together with a guide. Search for everything that lives, crawls, flies or grows between the pavement, the jetty and the bushes.
In a cheerful and accessible way, children discover how much life is hidden in their own neighbourhood. Afterwards, you will definitely look at the nature around you with different eyes.

About this Safari: “Join the Wild Bee Expedition and discover the mystery of the wild bee”

Learning only becomes truly fun when you go on a journey of discovery! The Bumblebee Queen takes you on an exciting adventure. She welcomes you into the Bumblebee Nest. You will help her collect as much pollen as possible.
With a route map, task card, score card and magnifying glasses, you will head out like real bumblebees. Put on your detective nose, use your compass and discover the wonderful world of wild bees!
At every experience point, fun and exciting tasks are waiting for you. This is how you learn where bees live, what they like to eat and how many different species there are. For every task completed successfully, you earn pollen points. Have you completed all the tasks? Then fly back quickly to hand in your pollen.
But hey, what is happening there? While handing in your pollen, you discover something special: pollination! Without bees, we would have far less food. These little heroes not only provide us with delicious vegetables and fruit, but also with flowers, trees and plants. They are the buzzing heart of nature!

About this guide: the Bee Foundation

We represent the voice of all bees, because bees are the buzzing heart of nature. They are responsible for almost 90% of all pollination on Earth. Without them, the world would look very different. Bee Foundation is best known for creating bee oases.

We run a school for Bees and Biodiversity, advocate for the rights of the Bee and organise wild bee expeditions. Because we believe everyone can contribute to a bee-friendly Netherlands.

Practical information for parents and caregivers

Supervision: Children participate under the supervision of a parent, caregiver or another responsible adult. It is not the intention to leave your child unattended, you remain responsible during the activity.

Fun for all ages: As a parent, you are very welcome to join in, the safaris are fun and educational for all ages.
Where: we gather at the Ceuvel square. Walk through the Ceuvel gate and you will spot the guide right away. In case of less favourable weather, we gather under the canopy of the Maakbar.
