About the mini safaris
Go on an adventure at De Ceuvel! During these Mini Safaris, you explore the Ceuvel site together with a guide. Go looking for everything that lives, crawls, flies or grows between the pavement, the jetty and the bushes.
In a cheerful and accessible way, children discover how much life is hidden in their own neighbourhood. Afterwards, you are guaranteed to look at the nature around you with different eyes.
About this Safari: elderflower ”A sweet plant full of stories”
The elder tree has hollow wood: we can make all kinds of things from it and... the elder is full of stories. Stories from the past that warn you about the elder. Or stories that tell how the elder can protect and help you, for example when you have a fever. The elder brings colour and sweetness, learn how and when. During this mini safari full of stories, there will also be something to taste and we will get to work with the wood.About this guide: Annet Breure
With Plant Stories, Annet gives workshops and interactive lectures in which scientific and historical information is interwoven with traditional folk stories. Told in a lively way that engages all the senses. The symbolism and use of plants and herbs, told from a cultural historical perspective, are explored.
