MIDSUMMER NIGHT RETURNS TO PLLEK IN AMSTERDAM NOORD (NDSM-WHARF)
The longest day of the year is just around the corner, and of course we won’t let it pass us by unnoticed. This year, we’re once again celebrating Midsummer Night at Pllek, with a full day of live performances and DJ’s. As the day slowly fades away and the night starts glowing, our traditional fire ceremony will return: a powerful moment in which we come together to celebrate the summer.
The event is free and you don’t need a ticket to join the programme, so there’s no reason to stay at home. Come by, enjoy the music and celebrate summer with us by the IJ.

Vulnerability and connection
This year, Midsummer Night is centered around Soft Power: the power of gentleness. In a world that often feels hard, fast and loud, we invite you to stay open. To seek connection instead of distance, to make space for feeling and to discover how strength can arise from vulnerability.
Soft Power is about the courage to open yourself up, to move, to feel and to make real contact. About the energy that is released when people meet each other without judgement. During Midsummer Night, we celebrate the longest day of the year together by the IJ. With music, performances, colour, fire and collective energy, we stand still around this theme and build step by step towards the peak of the evening: the fire ceremony, the moment when everything comes together. A ritual celebration, in a typical Pllek-manner: open, warm and free.
FIRE CEREMONY
The heart of the evening
Around 21:00, we gather at the fire pit for the highlight of Midsummer Night. Guided by live music, we slowly move towards the ceremony: a shared moment of stillness, attention and connection.
The ceremony master opens the evening and invites us to reflect on what lives within us: what we want to let go of, what we want to take with us and what can grow within us. The fire becomes the heart of the evening. A place of warmth, transformation and collective energy, where old patterns can soften and space opens up for new intentions.
Together, we close the longest day of the year by the IJ. Around the fire, we celebrate not only the arrival of summer, but also welcome it consciously. A special moment of connection with yourself, with each other and with the energy of a new season.
