Masterclass: Sound design beyond stereo

You might have heard that a podcast is published in "8D" sound. That's utter nonsense, but there are indeed microphones, plugins, and other tools available to podcasters to go beyond stereo.

In this masterclass, sound designer Tomas Loos, who works extensively for the theater collective URLAND, known for projects like "Buy Me a Drink and I'll Tell You a Story" (autonomous, 2025), will take you into the wonderful world of binaural audio, impulse frequency response, and HRTF plugins. Besides getting a peek under the hood (and editing), you'll also get to test out different types of gear!
