Marcelo Godoy Quartet

With the great sucess that was the last time Marcelo Godoy Trio played at Munganga, we are proud to present again this wonderful trio of great brazilian musicians who are working together for a long time in the Nederlands. Godoy is mineiro, from Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, a city known for its rich cultural scene and birth of many well known artists like Beto Guedes, among others. And not less important national public figures as the great antropologist Darcy Ribeiro. Marcelo Godoy Trio is formed by bassist Jurandir Gomes and drummer Alaor Soares, both from Sao Paulo. In this show Marcelo mixes his own songs with MPB (Musica Poular Brasileira).
Emphasizing composers who influenced him throughout life: Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento among others. The night promises to be very exiting because Marcelo has prepared a repertoire to dance to with a summery atmosphere.
