Discover the World of Lichens
Explore the fascinating world of lichens — a powerful symbol of interconnectedness. This workshop, part of the project Complex Individuality, reveals how the collaboration between a fungus and a photosynthetic organism can teach us about air quality, ecosystems, and coexistence.

We’ll not only take a close look at lichens, but also listen to the stories they tell — about time, cooperation, and vulnerability. A unique opportunity to pause, notice the often-overlooked wonders of nature, and learn how we can contribute to a better world.

Suzette Bousema (NL, 1995) verbeeldt hedendaagse milieuthema’s in samenwerking met wetenschappers. De toestand van onze planeet en onze plek daarin vormen het uitgangspunt van haar werk: hoe de mens ingrijpt in de natuur en hoe we ons op individueel niveau tot de aarde verhouden. Ze werkt interdisciplinair met fotografie, druktechniek, glasblazen, weven, geluid, geur en organische materialen zoals zeewier.
