Lieve Stad, dat zijn Wij (Dear City, That’s Us)
Amsterdam is who it is thanks to everyone who ever arrived here, from every corner of the world. Our city is a melting pot of flavours, cultures and stories. And that’s exactly what we’re celebrating this afternoon.
After last year’s success, we’re joining forces once again. Partners, volunteers and members of IMBY and Warm Welkom will come together. But anyone from the city who feels like celebrating with us is warmly welcome too.
We look back on the encounters of the past year: shared meals, neighbours who became friends, small gestures that made a big difference. And we look ahead to everything still to come. Because Lieve Stad, Dat Zijn Wij (“Dear City, That’s All of Us”), and together we keep building.
We celebrate together with today’s newcomers, taste each other’s dishes and discover what connects our traditions.
From 12:00 to 4:00 PM, the Zonzij will be the setting for entertainment, good food an new interactions.
Children up to and including age 12 can attend for free! Please do reserve a (free) ticket.

Stichting Warm Welkom helps newcomers, such as status holders and people with a refugee background, feel at home in Amsterdam. We provide a warm welcome in the neighborhood and help people find their way in their new surroundings. We connect newcomers with local residents and organizations in the area. In this way, we build a strong, engaged community together.
IN MY BACKYARD is a network of neighborhood groups that connects newcomers and local Amsterdammers with each other. IMBY is part of Stichting Warm Welkom, focused on connecting newcomers with their neighborhood, residents and organizations. This event is for the members of all neighborhood groups and for new people who are curious and want to meet others with an open mind.
