La Época is a series of cultural events dedicated to the golden age of salsa (the 1950s through the 1970s), boogaloo, and the Latin American dance and neighborhood-based social culture. Featuring vinyl DJs, live bands, and elegant evenings, it brings the true soul of salsa back to life.
For this Asalto Navideño edition at Paradiso, La Época invites you to experience the Christmas spirit of salsa. Asalto Navideño literally translates to Christmas raid. It refers to a traditional, festive custom, originating in places like Puerto Rico, where a group of friends or family members arrives unannounced at someone’s home in the middle of the night to sing Christmas songs. On December 15, La Época will take over the main hall of Paradiso, joined by the 12-piece live band La Época All Stars, led by Oscar Cordero, along with vinyl DJs, special guests, and dance performances. Expect an evening full of surprises, live music from all your favorite salsa legends, vinyl, dance, and culture, taking salsa back to its roots while celebrating Christmas together.
