Kay Slice’s music is more than meets the ear at first listen. He combines the rhythms and melodies of West African highlife with sharp, personal lyrics, creating a unique sound that brings together his Ghanaian roots and contemporary influences. His music bridges the gap between tradition and innovation, without losing sight of his cultural background. Live, Kay brings this blend to life with great conviction. Together with his band, he weaves Ghanaian percussion, balafon and energetic grooves with powerful rap and personal stories about identity, migration and connection.
Following his critically acclaimed debut album ‘From Back To Back’, Kay takes the next step in 2026 with ‘Take U Highlife’. The album, co-produced by Kay and Anton de Bruin (Dragonfruit, Peter Somuah), was created in collaboration with his Ghanaian ensemble and demonstrates how highlife and hip-hop can naturally enhance one another.
