Alt-prog folk with Nordic pop influences and ethereal melodies

Kalandra isn’t easily summed up in a few words. The Norwegian band combines alt- and prog-rock with folk and Nordic pop influences, weaving ethereal melodies into a sound that is both dark and atmospheric. Their latest work, 'The Other Side', is a concept album about dreams, filled with ominous and raw soundscapes. The four-piece creates music that alternates between light and melancholy, drawing inspiration, by their own account, from Alice In Chains, Dead Can Dance, and folklore.
