KAGAMI

KAGAMI began with a shared love of 1980s Japanese city pop. The Dutch duo create cosmic funk in which live instruments and synthesisers complement one another. They draw inspiration from the electronic funk of Daft Punk and the interplay of the Japanese jazz-fusion band Casiopea.

On their 2025 EP ‘TIME MACHINE’, you can also hear their penchant for Italo-disco and Brazilian pop. The melodies are reminiscent of the 1980s, with the danceable beats of the French Touch. When performing live, the pair further tweak their tracks using a vocoder and DJing, turning them into a continuous dance set.
