Jon Lloyd | John Law present: Naissance

Long-time collaborators John Law and Jon Lloyd, two of the UK’s most respected voices in contemporary jazz and improvisation, return with their new duo project: Naissance.

In 2019, the two launched Renaissance—an innovative project blending live saxophone and keyboards with ambient loops of Renaissance sacred vocal music, accompanied by live visuals. The project toured cathedrals and churches across the UK until 2022, creating immersive, meditative soundscapes in sacred spaces.

Now, with Naissance, the duo strips the concept down to its essential core: pure musical conversation. Combining acoustic piano, electronics, and saxophones, they revisit parts of Renaissance while weaving in new minimalist compositions. The result is intimate and spacious, where sound flows like dialogue and the focus lies on form, feeling, and beauty.

Their new duo album Naissance is out in 2024 on 33JAZZ, highlighting their refined interplay and the quiet power of musical simplicity.
