John Illsley (of Dire Straits)

John Illsley is a British musician best known as the bassist for the legendary rock band Dire Straits. As a co-founder, he played a key role in shaping the band's distinctive sound, collaborating with Mark Knopfler for many years. Illsley was a mainstay of the group and remained involved alongside Knopfler throughout its entire career. In addition to his work with Dire Straits, he has released solo albums and contributed to various musical projects.
